Shared Zone Bollard 140mm x 1300mm — AS/NZS 2890.6 Compliant | Surface Mount Safety Yellow

140mm x 1300mm surface mount bollard for the shared zone alongside an accessible parking bay, in powdercoated safety yellow. Built to meet the shared-area bollard requirement of AS/NZS 2890.6-2009. Bolts straight down onto existing concrete on a fully welded 10mm base plate — no excavation and no footing to cure.

Why this one and not the standard 140mm

Accessible parking bays have a shared area beside them so a person can transfer to and from a wheelchair. AS/NZS 2890.6 calls for a bollard in that shared area to stop vehicles encroaching on it. This bollard is the 1300mm version specified for that job — taller than the standard 1200mm bollard so it stays visible to a driver reversing in. If you are marking out an accessible bay to meet a consent condition or a DDA obligation, this is the one you want.

Installation

1. Set the bollard out in the shared area to the position shown in AS/NZS 2890.6, clear of the transfer space itself.
2. Mark the four hole positions through the base plate.
3. Drill to the depth specified on your fixing pack, blow out the dust and reseat the bollard.
4. Insert the four fixings and tighten evenly. Re-check after the first few weeks of use.

Placement matters as much as the bollard itself — check the current standard and any development consent conditions before you set out, since a compliant bollard in the wrong position will still fail an audit.

Before you order

• This is an access control and delineation bollard. It is not crash rated and is not tested to PAS 68 or IWA 14.
• The concrete needs to be sound and thick enough to hold a mechanical anchor. On asphalt use the asphalt fixings; on soft ground you'll need a concrete footing first.
• Most accessible bay installations also need line marking and signage — talk to us on 1300 291 700 if you want the whole bay done in one order.
