At eSafety Supplies, our world revolves around safety. We spend our days focused on providing the very best equipment to protect Australians at work, on-site, and in public spaces. From hard hats and steel-cap boots to traffic bollards and first aid kits, we're committed to protecting your physical wellbeing.
But true safety goes deeper than that.
A truly safe environment isn't just about preventing physical injuries; it's also about supporting the mental and emotional health of the people within it. We can equip a worksite with the best PPE in the country, but if a team member is struggling internally, they aren't truly safe.
That’s why this October, we are shining a spotlight on an incredible initiative that takes this concept to heart: One Foot Forward.
What is One Foot Forward?
One Foot Forward is a positive, inspiring, and free-to-join event run by the Black Dog Institute.
The concept is simple: throughout October (which is national Mental Health Month), participants commit to walking, running, or rolling to raise funds and show solidarity for mental health.
The statistics are sobering. 1 in 5 Australians will experience symptoms of mental illness this year. But by taking part, you’ll be joining thousands of people across the country to show those 1 in 5 that they are not alone.
Why It Matters for Our Community
Many of our customers work in industries where physical toughness is a daily requirement. On construction sites, in warehouses, and on the road, the focus is often on getting the job done safely. However, the "tough" culture can sometimes make it hard to talk about mental health.
That's what One Foot Forward is helping to change. It's a way to actively do something to support mental wellbeing.
The funds raised go directly to the Black Dog Institute, supporting crucial mental health research and services in areas like:
- Suicide prevention
- Youth and workplace mental health
- Digital mental health services
- Education and advocacy
Putting Our Best Foot Forward for Total Safety
We believe that looking out for your mates is the most important part of any safety culture. That includes checking in on their mental health just as you would check that their safety harness is secure.
Participating in One Foot Forward is a perfect way to build team morale, promote a healthy and supportive workplace, and make a tangible difference in the lives of millions.
We encourage all of the businesses and individuals in the eSafety community to get involved.
Here’s how you can help:
- Sign Up (It’s Free!): Register yourself or, even better, create a workplace team at www.onefootforward.org.au.
- Get Moving: Walk, run, or roll and log your kilometres throughout October.
- Share & Donate: Raise funds to support the vital work of the Black Dog Institute.
Join us in extending our commitment to safety beyond the physical. Let's walk together, stand together, and build a stronger, safer, and healthier community for everyone.
