What is rubber bunding used for?

Spill containment. It creates a low wall on the floor that stops liquids — wash-down water, fuel, oil, chemicals — spreading across the floor or reaching drains. It is not a corner guard or impact barrier.

Can vehicles drive over it?

Yes. The 40mm profile is rated to 15 tonne, so forklifts, pallet jacks, utes and trucks can cross it. It is not a speed hump and won't damage tyres or suspension.

Do I need the Installation Kit?

Yes if you want it to hold liquid. Bolting it down holds it in place, but only the sealant under and between each piece makes it watertight. The kit includes galvanised screwbolts and hybrid sealant and is calculated per metre — order one kit per middle section.

How much liquid will it contain?

Roughly 40 litres for every square metre of floor inside the bund (40mm high). A 3m x 3m bunded area holds about 360L, less the footprint of anything sitting inside it. If you're storing flammable or combustible liquids, check your required bund capacity against AS 1940.

How do I finish the ends and corners?

Use the Rubber Bunding Corner (sold separately) at each change of direction. For a closed rectangle you need four corners plus enough middle sections for the straight runs.

Will it work on asphalt or uneven floors?

It's designed for flat concrete. The rubber will follow minor undulations, but on rough or cracked surfaces the seal won't hold. Call 1300 291 700 if you're unsure about your floor.

The Rubber Bunding Middle Section is the straight run of a low-profile spill bund. At 40mm high it contains wash-down water, fuel, oil and chemical spills without stopping forklifts, pallet jacks or vehicles crossing it — rated to 15 tonne drive-over. Each piece is 1000mm long; join as many as you need and finish the corners with the matching Rubber Bunding Corner.

Installation

Lay the pieces end to end on a clean, dry surface and bolt down through the preformed fixing points using the galvanised screwbolts in the Installation Kit. Run a bead of sealant underneath each piece and between the joins — without sealant the bund will not hold liquid. Corners are a separate piece; count how many you need before you order. If you're installing on asphalt or an uneven surface, call us on 1300 291 700 before ordering.
