The Eyewash collection covers emergency eye and face wash equipment for treating chemical splashes, dust and foreign body contamination in the workplace. It includes personal eyewash bottles and stations, wall-mounted plumbed eye and face wash units, portable gravity-fed eyewash units, and eyewash solutions and saline ampoules.

This range is aimed at laboratories, workshops, manufacturing plants, chemical handling areas and any workplace where an eye injury risk assessment identifies a need for immediate eye irrigation, in line with WHS first aid obligations.

What's included:

  • Personal eyewash: AEROWASH Drop eyewash bottles (100mL, 250mL, 500mL) and eyewash stations, plus wall brackets.
  • Solutions & ampoules: AEROWASH sodium chloride eyewash ampoules, Mediq eyewash saline solution and Mediq pH neutralising solution.
  • Wall-mounted units: Mediq open and enclosed eyewash stations, and plumbed wall-mounted eye and face wash units with and without bowls and foot treadles.
  • Portable & hand-held units: gravity-fed portable eyewash units, hand-held twin eyewash and drench hose units for areas without plumbing access.

Use cases:

  • Laboratories & chemical handling areas: plumbed eye and face wash stations and pH neutralising solution for acid/alkali exposure.
  • Workshops & manufacturing: personal eyewash bottles and wall-mounted stations positioned near workstations for immediate response.
  • Remote or unplumbed sites: portable gravity-fed and hand-held drench hose units where mains water isn't available.

FAQs

How many eyewash stations does my workplace need?
The number and placement of eyewash stations should be based on a risk assessment of chemical and dust hazards present, with units positioned close to the point of risk so an affected person can reach one within seconds.

What's the difference between a plumbed and portable eyewash unit?
Plumbed wall-mounted units connect to the mains water supply for continuous flow, while portable gravity-fed and personal bottle units are used where plumbing isn't available or as first-response backup.

How often should eyewash bottles and solutions be replaced?
Check the use-by date on saline solution and ampoules regularly, and replace bottles once opened or expired to ensure the solution is sterile when needed.

Do foot treadle units make a difference?
Wall-mounted eye and face wash units with a foot treadle allow hands-free activation, which is useful when a person's hands are contaminated or injured.
